First family vacation

We took our first family vacation (that was not to Grandma's and Grandpa's house) to the North Shore last week. We stayed in Duluth one night and Silver Bay for two nights. We were a little unsure about how things would go with the kids being so little, but they had a really good time and by the end of the day they wanted nothing more than to go to sleep... music to mommy's ears!
We covered quite a few of the state parks hiking until our legs turned numb. The fall colors were beautiful, the weather was perfect and we all enjoyed the fresh air. We also spent some time at Split Rock Lighthouse and at the water park at our hotel.

Translation = "keep going"
Luke was so giddy to be outside so much and to be able to run, run, run.
We came across three very tame deer. Mason just walked right up to them. He got about 15 feet away when they decided to head for the woods.
Whew, close one... Of course we should have known that "Mr. Worker Bee," a.k.a. Mason, would find that the more challenging the trails, the better the hike. Anything shy of steep and things got "boring!"
Yep, Mason's behind the camera. Not too bad for an amateur.
